"Kathryn joined University College Northampton shortly before the institution gained university status in 2005. She led the development of the University's brand and what proved to be highly successful competitive positioning. She orchestrated a significant profile-raising campaign under the banner of the ‘Year of University’ celebrations to launch the new brand, which included internal presentations to engage staff, as well as an official public launch and hospitality events for external stakeholders, all of which received significant praise. A keen strategist, as well as a motivational and plausible leader, Kathryn transformed what had been a poor performing Department and professionalised its activities. She undertook a full marketing audit, restructured the Department and developed a marketing strategy focused on recruitment, retention and customer service. Kathryn is an excellent, thoroughly professional ambassador who gains the respect of the academics and professionals she encounters."
